This has absolutely nothing to do the the subject here - - but would some kind person tell me what this “BCS” means that I keep seeing when reading UGA articles in the newspaper? I’ve tried all sorts of configurations in my mind as to the mystery meaning of “BSC” and nothing makes any sense to me….thank you!!

BCS is the Bowl Championship Series, if memory serves. They take a combination of polls and run them through a computer programme in an effort to get a bias free rating of the best football teams in a particular year. The highest rated teams then go to a BCS bowl and the national champ. is then determined from the winners. The BCS was set up to have a fair way to establish the national champ without a playoff system and while still including the money making traditional bowls.
