Nu-Way Weiners celebrates the total revamp of the original sign that has greeted customers on Cotton Avenue since 1933, eleven years before Gene Krupa released “Ooh Hot Dog” on the V-Disc label “For Our Armed Forces Overseas.”

This new sign makes me feel good — means Nu-Way have no plans to leave downtown Macon - - I am still mourning the loss of Milady Cleaners, now Karsten-Denson - - at least there is still a few downtown Macon icons still around.

MissOldMacon……you are one classy lady! I bet you loved the old Pig n’ Whistle on Georgia Avenue, and Goldman’s on Cherry Street.
Perhaps our Anchor will devote some space for reminiscing about long-lost downtown businesses.
