There are numerous military and part military parades on the 4th of July. That author is factually incorrect.
Plus, our military and naval forces have sacrificed much to gain and ensure our freedoms in America. I want soldiers to march on the 4th as a celebration of their valiant deeds on behalf of America.

My brother is a retired commander who is sitting in a chair as we speak after Iraq and many other tours of the Persian gulf–
Tho he has done some marching in parades, I love thinking of him sitting on his fat hiney having fun and eating tons of good food. It can be both.
