>
> Dear Public Safety Committee members,
>
>After last week’s raid on the eight massage parlors, I think the Public Safety
>Committee needs to visit all the massage parlors in Macon to see if they are
>really rubdown joints or international houses of slavery and ill repute.
>
>We are going to call this “Operation Rubdown.”
>
>I want Mr. Watkins and Ms. White to take the parlors from Ahn’s Hot Hands
>through the Happy Ending Hotspot. Mr. Miley, Rabbi Schlesinger and myself
>will take the establishments from Madame Chan’s Asian Connection through
>the Wink-Wink Massage Parlor.

>Ms. White, you are going to have to visit the ladies only establishment, Kim’s
>House of Women Who Rub Women’s Backs. We appreciate your sacrifice.

>When you enter these establishments remember not to wear your City

>(Wink.) I think I need some special treatment. (Wink.) Do you have
>any special treatment you can give me? (Wink, wink.)”

>Now people, I don’t have to tell the rabbi this, but we are not going all the

I knew this item would not escape our WMCC ever on the alert reporter.

Better get Cotton in on this deal. He seems to be the expert. I guess he reads a lot.
3 David // Jul 6, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Come to think of it a nice rubdown would be pretty good right now!
4 Citro // Jul 6, 2008 at 12:39 pm
this could rub the wrong way….

Sorry to say, the obnoxious signs drive me nuts. Sadly, that is the tip of the icky iceberg. If they could take down all the obnoxious and stupid signs, I would be less irritated. But I am sure the health hazards are irrelevant to the signage

Legal Businesses have a First Amendment right to advertise under the 1995 U.S.Supreme Ct ruling in LiquorMart V Rhode Island. Celebrate Freedom of Speech.

It is legal to be extremely creepy. I am feeling more than a bit nauseated. I am celebrating sharing the planet with “Stupid is as Stupid Does.” Congrats. As usual, Ima is getting a check in the mail. This time, the payer is listed as the “National Coalition to Make Sure that Stupid is Noted.” Ima, I think you are gonna end up makin more money this month than we all did on the Cotton and ‘Gus Rib Shack. Rock our world, Ima. Ain’t that America? Yep. Shore nuff ain’t da Netherlands. I just burned my wooden shoes.

I am tired of translating from that Alsatian for Gladiator, but here goes.
1. In Holland they have few if any billboards like the junk on I75.
2. Ima will save the world in very few words.
3. David might have an agenda, maybe, dunno (?)
4. The ancestors I know of that most of us claim were something like Puritans. Of or pertaining to.
5. Ima gets paid by the brain cell. Ima is rich.

Where is Cotton when we need him?
11 Republic 96 // Jul 6, 2008 at 9:02 pm
Legal is this thread’s operative word. I am fairly certain that we are not in Nevada, and prostitution has not been legalized here in Macon, Bibb or any 0ther county, Georgia.

de Tocqueville and Max Weber both liked the influence of the Puritans. The older I get and the more stupid stuff nauseates me, the more I think the Puritans had it right.

David, commercial speech can be regulated by local authorities, and on a more strict basis than most other forms of speech. Commercial signage can be and is widely regulated in America.

…..and to think I once voted for you, David, when you ran against C. Jack.
Do you realize because of all your “First Ammendent” stances, you couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Macon now. You have wasted your God given intelligence on strip club & massage parlor rights. What a shame………
15 gladiator // Jul 6, 2008 at 10:30 pm
This old lady just spent way too much energy posting on the “Top Stories” thing from a few threads back. I think I need the team of Mother Theresa, Madame Curie and Betsy Ross to hold me up on this one, with some help from Clara Barton and Anne Frank. We could use the bench pressing capabilities of Susan B. Anthony. I would hate to let Ellen Goodman and Camille Paglia loose–it would not be a pretty whacking. I do not enjoy a fisticuffs.
16 david // Jul 7, 2008 at 7:17 am
I couldn’t get elected dog catcher anyway because my views in support of individual liberty are in conflict with the socialist views of the left and authoritarian views on the right. Freedom is frightening for too many folks around here both economic and personal freedom.
17 david // Jul 7, 2008 at 7:21 am
Prostitution restrictions and bans should be stricken under the 9th and 14th amendments as sodomy laws were in ‘Lawrence V Texas” and abortion laws were in “Roe V Wade” and birth control laws were in “Griswold V Conneticut”
18 citro // Jul 7, 2008 at 3:00 pm
David, reading your comments I am reminded of George Carlin. With his recent death he’s on my mind anyway. He was radical to some in his views of individual liberty. And he was, in my opinion, a very conscious person with a keen intellect. What made him palpable to some conservative audiences was his expression of his own personal inner freedom. What a great world view he had! The man could definitely laugh and it was contageous. Of course there are those who didn’t care for his world view or get his humor. It may not be your views that prevent you from getting elected dog catcher. It could be the way you express them and the way you connect or rather disconnect with people.

David, freedom is good, anarchy and unbridled passions are bad.

Augustus was just awarded the international “You Said a Mouthful, Brother” medallion for meritorious service. It is a lovely bronze statue with an eagle smiling knowingly.
21 augustus // Jul 7, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Glad, thanks for the award. I may have to sell it for scrap to get gas money. I wish the dems would let us drill for oil.
22 gladiator // Jul 7, 2008 at 8:10 pm
I’ve been asking those gulf beachfront dingbats to let us drill for years. How else are they going to fill those Porsche Cayennes?

Republic 96…..I am here, and ready to ask some poignant questions of our esteemed President Pro Tem, the Honorable James Timley:
Professor Timley, have you consulted with Rear Admiral Bishop since he is a retired MPD officer and is very knowledgeable with undercover operations?
Professor Timley, will you keep the Mayor and Council abreast of any major developments or unforeseen eruptions of immoral behavior ?
Professor Timley, how will you be able to interview Suki Lei Pham at the Happy Ending Hotspot if David Corr’s name is entered into Ms. Suki’s appointment book for every hour of every day?
Professor Timley, would you consider enlisting Commissioner Joe Aristotle Allenopoulos as an undercover agent at Madame Chan’s if the good madame hires Aphrodite the Love Goddess?

I have ye t another money-making concept, (full of them, aren’t I???)
During this time of such a proliferation of massage joints, what is needed is a costumer that can get law enforcement under cover at a moment’s notice. Planning to advertise in Macon Magazine:
…………..Esprit de Corr………………………
………..With our convincing outfits……….
…..Look just like David Corr in minutes!!!!!
….No muss, no fuss this one piece jumpsuit with its makeup kit, even the slightest lady or gentleman can look convincingly like the libertarian who loves that form of free enterprise!!! Only 19.95! Get yours today!
25 David // Jul 8, 2008 at 6:48 pm
No disconnect at all Citro I’m a people person! I’ll buy You a beer and a lap dance in Hotlanta at the Pink Pony July 27th on the way to the Poison,Dokken, and Sebastian Bach Concert?
26 David // Jul 8, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Augustus, since when is a contract entered into voluntarily between consenting adults equate with anarchy and unbridled passion? Sounds like a concept of ordered liberty and that pursuit of happiness thang to me!
27 augustus // Jul 9, 2008 at 1:27 pm
David, there are rumors that the girls working in some of the parlours were not voluntary. I don’t know if that is true but it has happened in other cities around the nation. Second, even voluntary contracts have legal limits for the good of the public. A contract for prostitution would be illegal and would be an example of unbridled passion.
28 david // Jul 9, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Those rumors were disproven by my investigation and police chief Mike Burn’s investigation. He testified Monday before the public safety committee that his investigastions had uncovered no evidence of slavery or trafficking. In fact Erickson needs to stop libeling these good folks.
29 david // Jul 9, 2008 at 10:09 pm
As for unbridled passion hey as Rod Stewart sang “Even the president has passion” Especially Bill Clinton.
30 augustus // Jul 10, 2008 at 3:02 pm
How does citing an example of unbridled passion jusitify it? Clinton’s immoral conduct seems to prove the case for more restrictions, not less.
31 David // Jul 10, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Well Augustus I guess You are proving my point of why the GOP is a sinking ship except for a few states ie… They are clearly the government in the bedroom party. The Dems aren’t much better. Barr in 08!
32 augustus // Jul 11, 2008 at 1:08 pm
David, those massage parlours were not someone’s bedroom. They are commercial establishments and many advertise prominently. I am an independent by the way; the repubs are too liberal for me.
33 david // Jul 11, 2008 at 10:40 pm
What about private property rights? As long as it is behind closed doors government has no right to intervene. I’ve noticed the advertisements are much tamer with no females on the billboards anymore.
34 Cotton Avenue Solon // Jul 12, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Has Rawni White gone to work for the Happy Ending Hotspot on Pio Nono Avenue yet?
35 augustus // Jul 12, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Cotton, you would know more about massage parlour workers than I.
David, private property cannot be a shield to crime. Prostitution is a crime as much on private property as it is on a public street.
36 david // Jul 13, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Prostitution is not a crime as there is no victim!
37 augustus // Jul 14, 2008 at 4:15 pm
David, now you are being obtuse. Check the law, prostitution is a crime. No victims? How about children that get forced into it, how about VD, illegitmate children, robberies, etc.
38 David // Jul 16, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Give me a break! There are already laws on the books against involuntary servitude,slavery,trafficking,etc.. However prostitution is by definition a contract entered into voluntarily by adults and should be legal as Nevada and Amsterdam realized decades ago.
