Obama has shown disrespect for Hillary, but who can blame him? Giving the Clintons prominant speaking roles at the convention and a roll call vote will not smooth things over. Many Clinton supporters are permanently angry, which causes a split in the party, which will mean an easy victory for McCain.
Something new to consider as we all prepare for November 2008.
Think about this - John McCain spent more time as a POW defending himself and his fellow prisoners than Obama has spent as a senator.
McCain refused release from the POW camp because he did not want special treatment or to abandon his fellow prisoners. He is the son of a US Adminal and the VC wanted to curry favor with the US. For refusing he was tortured if more so.
Imagine Obama doing anything even remotely that brave and self sacrificing.
Hillary can still get the nomination in Denver; remember that she only “suspended” her campaign. The Democratic power brokers in Washington and across the nation have finally come to understand that The Messiah is a weak candidate, who just can’t cut it.
Before leaving Springfield, IL yesterday, Biden pulled Obama off to the side and whispered into his large, protruding left ear:
“Now listen very carefully, Barak America or whatever your name is. I’ve talked to Dean and Reid back in D.C., and we’ve all agreed for you to keep reading exactly what Kennedy puts on the teleprompter. Just leave foreign policy, national defense and all economic decisions to me, OK?
Oh, and one more thing, make sure Michelle doesn’t say anything stupid, and always carry plenty of tire gauges in your pocket to pass out to the crowds”. You got that Osama?”
Flower, well said. Cotton if the Clintons were to pull off such a coo, two thing are certain to happen, McCain wins and the Dems are scattered for ever. They will loose the black vote for ever.
Grayrider……..you are absolutely correct. The
“scattering” you mention will be devastating for many reasons, not the least of which is that The Messiah has raised twice as much money as McCain. Will another Dem be able to ever again raise that kind of money (over $350 Million)?
One more thing Grayrider…….I have to point out that you did not spell “coup” correctly. I certainly hope that our Anchor, or any of his ever-watchful surroogates, will not report you to International Spelling Commission.
Now Cotton, who knows, maybe Grayrider was referring to the Clintons as Dove’s - you know, like Peaceniks or something…and so he meant to say “coo”.
Peace out, dog.
Coo too.
Cotton, hate to be a snit, but you should have said “mentioned” above as the speech was in the past. I always double check things before I point fingers at others.
Augustus, you are absolutely correct my friend!
I stand corrected by you, and I am terribly embarrassed.
I will try to be ever more vigilant with my grammar and my punctuation in these postings, and I sincerely hope one day to attain the degree of perfection that you constantly exhibit.
I apologize to Grayrider, to you, to our Anchor, and to all of the bloggers on these pages.
Everyone put on your beer goggles, please, and stop taking offense at corrections. Are we so above ourselves that we can’t learn from each other? Let’s just note the correction, say “You’re right. Thank you!”, and move on!!
Grayrider, Cotton is right. It is “coup” and not “coo”.
Gus, one cannot be a “snit”; one is “in a snit”.
Cotton, it is “surrogates”, not “surroogates”, but, obviously, that is a typo!
and citro, it isn’t “Dove’s”, but “doves”.
I will say, however, that Grayrider’s sentence structure is looking good!
Now, did any of you complete your reading of DEVINE COMEDY as was assigned?
And Gladiator, you had better be thankful that you were absent during all of these postings because your name, along with appropriate corrections, would have been included, too!

Ima, how about offering us a bit of levity. Maybe a poem?
Cotton, I shall attempt to be more dilligent on my spellin. By the way as a compliment to ya’ll. I enjoy reading and particpating on this blog for it’s humor, satire and intelligent commentary.
“…spoken loudly and clearly” is the appropriate choice, but by the time you read this, no one will have any idea of what I’m talking about because 35 comments will have been written, posted, and read.
So I conclude that one can be banished to “…awaiting moderation”?
2)”Presently, the only filter that’s switched on requires my OK for anyone whose comments have not been approved before. However, the program does not always pass through previous commenters - like you, I guess.” wmccnews, Aug. 22nd
Yes, I am a bit slow, but I now realize that my comments have been, are, and probably always will be awaiting moderation. Commenting on a topic and having to wait hours in moderation while the discussion moves on removes the desire to post other comments.
With this understanding, I am faced with a choice, aren’t I?
Your diet Coke was spiked by Pelosi, Cotton. She is an insidious monster. I will not post nor speak until Pelosi-monster is banished to Mongolia. In a cave. With jerky to eat. No plastic surgeons. No clothing designers and image makers. No stylists. No botox. Just Pelosi, jerky and the cave. EEEEEEeeeek and it is yet Hallowe’en.
I just returned from the Pelosi Relocation Team. We had our final meeting. She is in the cave. They decided on pot meat rather than jerky.
There was a seminar on syntax. If you listen closely outdoors to that thunder, you will see the gods are not pleased with the grammar that was displayed above.

I parked behind a Jeep Cherokee last night at the MidTown Kroger. It still had a KerryEdwards bumper sticker on the rear.
Good Grief……………

Thank Anchor, almighty,

Anchor, where are your beer goggles? The teacher has spoken very loud and clear!
25 Cotton Avenue Solon // Aug 25, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Was that correct, or is it “very loudly and clearly”?
26 Cotton Avenue Solon // Aug 25, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Well, the Dems have signed off for the night, but I cannot quit humming, “Isn’t she lovely, isn’t she lovely”.

I’ve already had 2 cups of coffee and 1 Diet Coke this morning, and I’m still humming, “Isn’t she lovely, isn’t she lovely”.
What’s wrong with me? Am I being indoctrinated subconsciously by the Dems?
I think I’ll tape of photo of Hillary next to my monitor; perhaps that will make me quit this damn humming.
