Somebody in the McCain camp has a sense of humor.

The Office of Capital Spiritual Civilization Construction Commission in Beijing has handed out booklets to residents of the Chinese capital advising them on how to handle themselves during the Olympics.  Samples:

• No public spitting.
• Wear no more than three colors.
• Do not wear white socks with black shoes.
• Do not wear pajamas and slippers to visit neighbors.
• Feet should be slightly apart or in the shape of a V or Y when standing.

Passing out booklets to our citizens with some suggested changes in mannerisms would probably be a good idea for a newly created Macon-Bibb County Office of Etiquette and Kool Kulture:

• Don’t let more than 2 inches of your butt crack show.
• Stay with your girlfriend for at least six months after the baby is born.
• Don’t worry about voting.  Your vote doesn’t matter.
• Sign every acerbic post to a website with an assumed name or “Anonymous.”
• Don’t carry your .38 into church depending on Georgia’s new gun carrying law.
• Enjoy “The Dark Knight” even though not a damn good thing happens to anybody.
• Don’t piss of the guy legally carrying his .38 for the first time and who’s itching to use it.

We’ve read that the Macon Mall is facing foreclosure.  Well, there’s good news for the mall at last.

The Onion is reporting that a new retailer, Linens’ N Shit, will open a new location today at the Macon Mall.

“Probe” has been the word de jour at The Telegraph this week:

The term has been used to characterize the investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice of the city’s administration of a $350,000 grant obtained by Hizzexoner C. Jack Ellis to fund after-schools programs offered by numerous faith-based organizations and managed by the police department.

The police department?

“Probe” is defined as “An exploratory action, expedition, or device, especially one designed to investigate and obtain information on a remote or unknown region.”

I think an after-school program run by churches with money managed by a police department probably qualifies as a “remote or unknown region.”

So, the probe has been inserted.  I hope the U.S. Attorney’s office is using plenty of K-Y Jelly.

You thought we’d gotten rid of him, didn’t you?  Thought that those never ending eight years had finally ended, didn’t you?

Well, as Gomer used to say: surprise, surprise, surprise.

Until we ferret out all that is hidden away in all the nooks and crannies of City Hall where the Jackster swept away things to be dealt with by those who followed him, he is still with us.

UPDATE: From reports by The Telegraph, it appears that that constraints imposed by the federal government through the U.S. Attorney’s office are making it difficult for the city to figure out what its side of the story is, much less tell it.  Are the feds playing fair with the City of Macon?  Read today’s article linked below and Travis Fain’s Lucid Idiocy (Politics) post linked below.  (Always read Travis Fain and Matt Barnwell.)
